We probably had an idea that this was the case but now there is good evidence to back it up. Late night snacking isn’t good for you!
Researchers have found that mice that were prevented from eating at all hours reduced their chances of obesity and metabolic problems.
The mice who ate whenever they wanted grew chubby and unwell with symptoms of diabetes.
Whereas the mice who ate within a 9 or 12 hour window remained healthy even if they cheated a bit at weekends.
The researchers stated that this research was based on mice but it’s very probable that the results can be transferred to humans.
So the take home message is notice when you first eat in the morning and don’t eat outside that 12 hour period from this time.
